Transchymal-DP is mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) composed in vitro platform harvested from freshly sourced (discarded) dental pulp from milk- or wisdom-teeth. These cells are characterised by the expression of cell-surface markers like CD90, CD105, and CD73, and by the absence of CD34, CD19, CD45; they are plastic adherent when maintained in standard culture conditions, and form CFUs.
Each vial contains cells with mesenchymal phenotype confirmed with antibodies specific to cell surface markers.
Care is taken to ensure the safety of the donor and the integrity of collected biosample; collection and handling procedures are compliant with Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC). Donors are tested for infections like HIV-1, HIV-2, HBV, HCV, Mycoplasma, Bacteria, Yeast and Fungi before collection. Primary cells are processed batch wise to be bioburden free.
Transchymal-DP sourced from dental pulp have applications in regenerative dental research, in studies of periodontal diseases, tooth engineering with biocompatibility shown on matrices in the chart. The cell systems also have application in exploratory preclinical evaluations such as high throughput screening (HTS) of drug candidates for oral cancers. Measured end-points of assays performed on Transchymal-DP are of human relevance, i.e. are predictive of human biology that can be extrapolated to Neurodegeneration. Furthermore, they have application in peripheral vascular disease research.
