TransD system – Drug Repurposing Assay
Cell type used as testing platform
TRANS-MSC: Characterized Configured Human induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (HiPSC) type of adult primary and progenitors
About the Test
Transdifferentiation is a process whereby one cell type committed to and progressing along a specific developmental lineage switch into another cell type of a different lineage. Molecules found to have this Transdifferentiation ability can further be evaluated for their polypharmacology roles or for repurposing the therapeutic value
Assay endpoints:
Differentiation towards ectodermal lineage
For predicting the molecule’s ability to convert stem cells to osteocytes or chondrocytes or adipocytes or nerve cells or epithelial cells
Differentiation towards endodermal lineage
For predicting the molecule’s ability to convert stem cells to pancreatic beta cells
Differentiation towards mesodermal lineage
For predicting the molecule’s ability to convert stem cells to cardiocytes
